Join us for our Read & Ring in August!
Let's have a great time reading and ringing new music—possibly music for your upcoming season?
Many handbell choirs and ensembles are beginning rehearsals and performances after a long summer absence. Bells of the Cascades is right there with you! That's why we'd love to see you at this year's Read & Ring, happening on Saturday, August 16, 2025.
Handbell directors and ringers will be given an opportunity to read through music for all seasons, decide what you like, and optionally purchase it at a discount for their choirs to use during the year. Bring your choir or come alone and meet new people!
WE DO NOT HAVE AN EARLY BIRD DEADLINE THIS YEAR. This year's registration fee is:
- $35 for online payment any time before the event
- $45 if you'd rather pay at the door
We still encourage you to pre-register if you know you want to attend, even when paying at the door. This is simply so that we can have as accurate an attendance estimation as possible and a name tag prepared for you! Of course, we understand the need for last-minute decisions sometimes, so walk-in registration is always welcome!
The Read & Ring day is broken into three sessions, which will include general music and seasonal music for Advent, Christmas, Lent, and Easter.
- Directors: Select music for the upcoming year and have fun!
- Ringers: Have fun, boost your sight-reading skills, and try new positions!
Bells of the Cascades will provide the bells, chimes, mallets, tables, and foam, along with coffee, tea, water, and snacks. Our own members will be there, ringing with you, and available for questions and advice!
Be sure to bring your own:
- gloves
- easel binders and/or stands
- lunch (refrigerator and microwave available)
- smiles!
Schedule for the day

For this event, you are under no obligation to participate on every piece of music. While we do run through a LOT of music, you are free to take this day at your own pace, playing only at the times you are comfortable. We know you'll still enjoy the community spirit of the bells!
Our registration process
Using Google Forms, we ask each person to register themselves individually, even if you are a member of a group of ringers.
If you are in a group or church choir, we’ll still ask for your ensemble or church name, whether there’s just one of you or several. It’s always good to see what organizations from the area are being represented.

You’ll find complete payment instructions and you’ll receive a copy of your submission for your records.
