"A Moose-i-cal Cruise"
to the Alaskan Inside Passage
with guest clinician
Tim Waugh
Over the years as we've cruised to many warm locations, cruisers and friends have asked, "When are you going to Alaska?" Well, here's our answer. August 3 through 10, 2003!! We invite you along for a week of fun, bells, and some of the most amazing scenery you will ever see. Join us and over 150 new and old friends as we set sail from Vancouver, BC on Royal Caribbean's Vision of the Seas for 7 days of the inside passage.

Also known as the "Panhandle" of Alaska, the inside passage boasts of spectacular scenery, abundant wildlife, vivid Native cultures, astounding history, and exceptional hospitality. Whether you walk through the many shops or opt for a chauffeured ride in a streetcar, you're bound to step back in time to the gold rush boom of 1897 when you visit Skagway, the northern most city on our tour. Skagway is at one end of the oldest operating Narrow gauge railroad system in the United States, the White Pass & Yukon Route. |
The oldest bar and bakery in Alaska is in Juneau which is accessible only by boat, ferry, or plane. As a result, the high concentration of sports boats registered means there is one boat for every 14 people in Juneau. In addition, over 450,000 cruise ship passengers visit Juneau between May and September each year. Home of the Mendenhall Glacier, other things to see in Juneau include St. Nicholas Church, a historic Russian Orthodox church; the Alaska State Museum; and miles of scenic trails through the rain forests, along beaches, and up mountains.
| Ketchikan houses the world's largest collection of totem poles and visitors can get a glimpse of the native Alaskan culture through Native dance and craft demonstrations, ancient artifacts and other cultural activities. A wide variety of shops and galleries can be found not only downtown Ketchikan but also along Historic Creek Street, a wooden boardwalk that winds along the shores of Ketchikan Creek Close by Misty Fjords National Monument provides a breathtaking excursion through the wilderness surrounding Ketchikan. |

In addition to the activities on shore, Royal Caribbean offers a wide variety of on-ship activities. For those who want to join us in handbell activities, we are pleased to offer the opportunity to ring under Tim Waugh, a nationally recognized handbell conductor and composer. Tim is the chair of the Department of Music at Pike View High School where he directs choral, musical theatre, and handbell activities. Under his direction the Pike View Handbell Ensemble was awarded the 2000 AGEHR Exemplary Handbell Award. He has been featured in AGEHR's "Overtones" magazine, won several composition contests, and Teacher of the Year. As a Master Teacher with a concentration in Rhythmic Education, Tim conducted the first Distinctly Bronze style Youth Event at the 2001 Palm Springs Spectacular.
